Resolve Your Conflict under a Tree
Mission by Melina 'Daphne' Draco
- find a tree that can function as a Justice of the Peace
- if you have a conflict with someone, invite them to meet under your chosen tree
- request the tree to mediate and help you resolve the conflict
- all parties sit in silence with the tree for a few minutes
- each person describes the problem from their perspective, describing the effect of other participants' actions on themselves
- pay attention to separating facts from opinions and emotional content
- whenever the discussion becomes too heated, one of the participants can turn to the tree and ask for help
- the conversation can then cease, and all parties involved pay attention only to the tree
- after a few minutes, the conversation can resume
- repeat for as long as needed for the conflict to reach a resolution
- Estimated duration: 1 hour to 1 week, depending on conflict
- Estimated number of participants: at least two humans and one tree
- Vegetal mindfulness: acacia
